Reduced costs for local businesses from March 2015

Share This:

A fantastic decision has been made by the DVSA this week which has seen a compromise on local trade lifted to 100Km, previously 50Km was the maximum limit for local journey’s before a Tachograph is required, now though with higher limit it means rural trades should see a positive impact on cost and maintenance. The DVSA has actually stated this will directly benefit the rural community for moving livestock to market and back again, these vehicles now do not have to meet the regulations of Europe. The drivers will however still have to meet the GB domestic driver hours which remain unchanged, this can be monitored using a Tachograph or more cost effective a driver book which predates the Tachograph.

Vauxhall Corsa Recall

Share This:

Vauxhall have released a statement asking all new Vauxhall Corsa drivers to stop driving the vehicle, however this is only the case if your Vauxhall Corsa has got one of two part codes which can be found behind the pedals on the lower part of the steering joint which is visible. The code only comes visible though once turned 180 degrees, the code will be four digits long and made of three numbers and a letter. The problematic codes are 20E4 and 20K3, any other codes means your vehicle is safe to drive and not affected by the recall.

Accident reports logged see considerable rise

Share This:

Total Motion have seen a dramatic rise in the amount of Accidents logged in the 3 month period of May to July 2014, bearing in mind that a key relationship between weather and road conditions are said to contribute to a higher rate of collisions. This begs the question that Does driving in more challenging conditions increase driver awareness and safety?

The thought behind this is that there are no other influences on a dry summers day that the driver has to take into consideration other than the road/traffic the focus decreases as the driver starts to think about what they are going when they arrive at the destination, this lower focus then could be to blame for the rise in accidents. However, surely if driving conditions are perfect with a baked tarmac road surface, good visibility and warm sticky tyres then braking distances should be lower along with handling performance therefore it has to be driver related whether it is other road users or the driver in the insured vehicle.

For the fault Accidents Total Motion have a range of driver products which can tackle the issue up front, whether it inexperience, poor ability or early intervention to prevent the driver from being involved in Accidents which focuses on reading the situation on the road before it occurs much like Hazard Perception courses found on the UK Driving tests.
