Actual Whole Life Costs
Total Motion first developed this system in 1998, since then it has been proven to be the most accurate and transparent whole life cost system available, helping our clients decide upon and structure
- Which manufacturers and vehicles should be selected
- Which funding product should be used
- The true cost of vehicles.
- What period of time and or mileage should be applied to life cycles and contracts
- How grade limits are set & which vehicles fit into which grade
- Setting and developing cash allowances and flexible benefits.
- Identifying Driver and Vehicle trends
- Budgeting
The AWLC calculation includes:
- Depreciation
- Corporation tax, Capital allowances & NI
- Service, maintenance and repair spend (SMR)
- Non scheduled repair spend (accident, glass etc)
- Finance costs
- Insurance
- Fuel
- Road fund licence
- Return on funds
- Recovery services
- Average unrecoverable costs per vehicle
- Non scheduled costs
- Administration costs
- Vehicle usage
TMVM uses constantly updated real data and not estimates or calculations based upon leasing rentals which the alternatives do, with data coming from
- Fuel and Fuel card suppliers.
- Contract hire & Leasing suppliers
- Insurers & Brokers
- Vehicle manufacturers.
- Rospa
- Dept of Transport
- ICME repair times and costs
- Finance house net rates.
- Residual values from CAP, auctions, dealers and our own disposals department.
- Historic maintenance spend from our own database of vehicles and that of over 100 large fleet operators.
- Over 875,000 live vehicles
A consequence of this format is that an AWLC has a maximum variance of 5% against actual cost. TMVM are the only fleet management supplier that provides this format and degree of accuracy.
How this translates into practical operation is that we can analyse proposed or current grades and costs and then report to you with accurate forecasts and proactive recommendations based upon reality not fiction.
One further exclusive benefit of the AWLC system is that it constantly monitors vehicles and identifies trends and issues very quickly thus improving decision making and cost control.
